Letter from our Founder and President Sheryl

As I look back over the last year; I’m amazed and flooded with emotions. I had so many dreams and ideas and a desire for where I wanted WSW to go. I was afraid to share those ideas with anyone in the event it didn’t happen; then the only person that was disappointed was myself. But; that’s not how dreams work!!

You’ll often hear me say that you are given talents and abilities that are unique to you. You are meant to use those to share with the world; those around you and help people. My dreams were big and maybe even scary; but doable. My first dream was to make our social group a Non-Profit. We have so many women in this group; if we can pool our resources, I wonder what we can do when we work together?! Even though it was a struggle some days and I had to wait on the state to get my papers in order and decide, we were finally given the “YES” to be a non-profit! What a gift that was to me. I’m thankful to my team for their patience and guidance.

This year; because of YOU-we were able to do so much in just our 1st year:

1. We took up water, food, and other necessities for Tennessee hurricane victims, working with the “Walking with Swagger/GoodWorks” non-profit.

2. We donated to Sumner County Read-a-thon.

3. We paid for a member’s catering after the passing of her sister and brother.

4. We raised money for 2 members who would be out of work due to major surgery.

5. We raised money for a member who lost her son.

6. We donated to the “Christmas for Kids” organization - a combination of our members’ donations and matching funds.

7. We worked with “Feed the City” Hendersonville making lunches for the homeless.

My heart is full knowing we did things that made an impact. Not only did we do all of that; but I brought on a team of women to help me. My team and Board of Directors have done an amazing job. I’m so proud of them and thankful for all they do to help myself and WSW.

I hope this year brings us all great JOY as we embark on new adventures; helping even more people. I look forward to watching your lives grow and change. I know blessings are coming your way bc I believe in the power within us all to make that happen. Use those gifts that were given to you to bring about the desires of your heart. So much love to each of you this year; may 2025 be your year to shine bright!
